Doing business responsibly.

360° room comfort.
100% responsibility.

We are happy to be held up to scrutiny. Our sustainable corporate governance is founded on responsible business practices. We are consistently vigilant in ensuring that we are fully compliant at all times with all legal provisions, regulatory requirements and internal guidelines. Our own strict code of conduct provides us with clear principles and unequivocal directives to guide us in our dealings with each other and with our business partners. At SIEGENIA, we attach particular importance to ethically sound international cooperation that complies with Germany's Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, the Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz (LkSG). A whistleblowing system that is accessible to everyone enables any potential violations of human rights, environmental legislation or employment laws to be reported. We use ISO management systems to ensure that our own standards can also be verified objectively.

Compliance at SIEGENIA –
the manifestation of an approach we live by.

Compliance – that is to say, adherence to statutory and internal company regulations – is an integral part of corporate culture at SIEGENIA. At SIEGENIA, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and bribery,
competition law infringements, human rights violations, money laundering offences, foreign trade law violations and any other breaches of applicable legislation.

Compliance is a question of conduct and judgement, and goes beyond mere adherence to laws and regulations. Compliance represents a clear commitment to the SIEGENIA values and guiding principles. Compliance forms the basis for all our decision-making and activities and is the key to our success as a business.

Our Code of Conduct, which we apply worldwide, enshrines the principles by which we operate and our position on legal requirements and ethical issues.

Our compliance management system.

Our compliance management system (CMS) combines all the measures we take to ensure that our actions comply with the law and our internal regulations. First and foremost is risk management. This is the basis on which our corporate guidelines and procedures are defined, and our employees around the world are made aware of these and receive training on them. If they have any questions or require support, they can contact the Compliance department at any time. The SIEGENIA whistleblowing system can be used by both employees and outside parties to provide information about compliance in confidence. To complete the package of measures, compliance checks are carried out and reports are submitted to management with the aim of continuously reviewing and optimising our CMS.

The SIEGENIA whistleblowing system.

Reporting a specific compliance violation, or the suspicion of such a violation, helps us to prevent damage to our company, our employees and our business partners. Compliance information also helps us to continuously improve our CMS. The company's global whistleblowing system, which was set up for this purpose, allows employees and other stakeholders to report information confidentially.

The SIEGENIA whistleblowing system and the rules of procedure can be found here:

Compliance in the supply chain.

Our business partners are selected and evaluated within the framework of our compliance programme. We also consider responsible and lawful behaviour to be important even beyond the boundaries of our own company. For this reason, we have set out our expectations of suppliers in a Supplier Code.

In addition, the principles enshrined in our Code of Conduct (see above) apply to all our business partners.

SIEGENIA implements the requirements of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). We expect our business partners to support us in this endeavour, too. After all, it is only by working together that we can play an effective role in promoting human rights in the supply chain.

Our commitment to protecting human rights is set out in our Policy Statement on Human Rights Strategy. This policy statement complements our current Supplier Code, our Code of Conduct and the principles enshrined in our CMS. It also serves as a framework guiding the actions of SIEGENIA employees and of those working for our business partners throughout the supply chain.

Questions and answers

Compliance describes the adherence to statutory and internal company regulations. This means that all business activities of the SIEGENIA GROUP and its employees must be in compliance with statutory regulations, the Code of Conduct and all further directives.

Our employees and business partners are urged to report potential violations of compliance requirements through the SIEGENIA whistleblowing system, thus helping to limit the consequences of any such violations and prevent similar misconduct in the future.

  • Employees, trainees, interns
  • Outside parties, such as agency staff and employees of third-party service providers
  • Business partners of our suppliers and partner organisations, customers
  • Other third parties who may be affected

It is vital that any violations that may constitute a criminal offence (e.g. theft, fraud, bribery, cartel agreements), or that may be in breach of other laws or internal company regulations, be reported. This includes, for example, the wilful and persistent failure to comply with quality and safety standards or the Code of Conduct.

Yes. The SIEGENIA reporting team is responsible for conducting investigations, collecting evidence and initiating any measures that may be necessary. If necessary, the team can draw on support from specialists. Every report submitted will be treated confidentially.

Whistleblowers who report potential cases of non-compliance in good faith need not fear any adverse consequences as a result of filing a report.

The procedure for handling a report is described in detail in the rules of procedure. These can be found in the section on the whistleblowing system (see above).
