We believe that sustainability is more than just a corporate responsibility: sustainability not only safeguards the future growth of our company. By doing business responsibly, we also actively contribute to the common good. That is why we have a concrete plan in place for sustainable transformation at SIEGENIA. Every day, we work systematically to restructure our company for the future – at every level and in every department. Sustainability is an integral component of our corporate strategy, our business activities, our corporate values and the way in which we conduct our business. Every single measure connected with this transformation process is based on our “Evolution 2028” strategy programme. The strategic guidelines set out in the programme also determine our investment decisions. We are scrupulous in ensuring that these investments are not only economically sustainable, but also ecologically sustainable and fit for the future. If our endeavours also make us a role model for others, this will benefit us all and the environment, too.
Our business model
Fundamentally, sustainability means doing business in a responsible manner such that future generations will be able to enjoy at least the same, if not better, ecological, economic and social conditions. It is not simply a matter of making careful and considered decisions about investment in new technologies and of developing and expanding skills. It is also a question of establishing a corporate culture that encourages innovation, that both promotes and demands hands-on learning through trial and error and that embraces the challenge posed by setbacks rather than being unsettled by them.
At SIEGENIA, two basic conditions are required to ensure sustainable corporate development: safe and healthy working conditions at all of our sites and the active involvement of all employees in shaping and further developing their workplaces. We also explicitly ensure that environmental considerations and energy efficiency are taken into account in all our investment decisions.
Our Code of Conduct and supplementary compliance policies provide guidance on what it means to conduct ourselves responsibly in our dealings with each other and with our business partners.
Ultimately, however, sustainability also means never standing still, but continuously evolving and striving for progress in every area.
