360° room comfort.
100% responsibility.
Our goal is ambitious: to achieve carbon neutrality under Scopes 1 and 2 by 2028. To achieve this, we at SIEGENIA have developed a binding climate protection roadmap with the staunch motto: ‘avoid first, then reduce, then offset.’ It is not only complex projects such as the gradual transition to renewable energy sources that are on the agenda. Other measures are also planned, such as providing sites with fleets of electric vehicles and company bicycles. However, we only consider our commitment to climate protection to be truly comprehensive if it extends to our entire product range. That is why we look at the entire product life cycle – from research and development to production, right through to recycling and demolition. Every step forward brings us a little closer to our goal of a sustainable circular economy.
Our climate protection roadmap to 2028.
Our climate protection roadmap sets out the measures we will take to gradually reduce our carbon footprintfrom the energy we consume ourselves to achieve climate neutrality by 2028, in line with the GHG protocol. We have already passed an important milestone on this journey: since 2019, we have reduced our Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions from energy consumption by more than 20%.We are continuing this trend by implementing additional initiatives, such as introducing PV systems at our factories, making effective energy savings – by switching to LED lighting, for example – and increasing the efficiency of our production processes.
Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions from energy consumption in the years 2019 to 2023 (index values, 2019 = 100).
The energy transition at SIEGENIA: we are embracing solar power.

Our carefully considered climate protection roadmap specifies how we will reduce our energy needs and which energy sources we will rely on in the future. Generating our own electricity is therefore an important part of our investment portfolio and of the measures already implemented.
We have a clear goal: In the short to medium term, 20% of the electricity requirements at our plants in Germany and Poland will be met by solar power generated on site. The necessary planning work for this has already been completed and is now being implemented in stages.
In addition to our decision to generate our own electricity, since the beginning of 2024 we have been relying on green electricity to meet 100% of the electricity requirements at our European sites. In addition to this, we are also looking into the possibility of using heat pumps at one of our sites to provide heating without the use of fossil fuels.
Working together for a more sustainable future.
