5000 euros for children's home in Bangladesh
Company and its employees launch fundraising campaign at SIEGENIA
SIEGENIA is once again doing its bit for a good cause: in a fundraising campaign at the company's three German sites in Niederdielfen, Hermeskeil/Reinsfeld and Velbert, employees raised several thousand euros in support of the Khulna children's home in Bangladesh. This overwhelming response was acknowledged by Wieland Frank, Managing Director at SIEGENIA, who has generously increased the total to 5000 euros.
Passionate about the children of his hometown
The fundraising initiative was spearheaded by Babul Kilz, who works in the high-bay warehouse at SIEGENIA's Hermeskeil/Reinsfeld site. Born in Bangladesh himself, he has been passionate about improving the living conditions of orphans in the Khulna children's home for 14 years. In addition to making regular appeals for donations, the 59-year-old is also active on the ground in his home town of Khulna, where he was involved in the construction of a new building in 2019. This ongoing support is crucial to the continued existence of the children's home and the well-being of the 62 children currently living there. Babul Kilz is very appreciative of his colleagues' continued willingness to donate: "Help is always needed to ensure that the children who have found a new home in the children's home can continue to live and learn well there. We have changed life for the better for the children of Khulna." SIEGENIA's donation will make a significant impact, helping to secure the supply of fresh water and electricity as well as funding food, school books and medical treatment for the children.
