IT trainees widen their experience
SIEGENIA and HEES are stepping up their trainee exchange
Following positive experiences at the kick-off events, the SIEGENIA GROUP and HEES Bürowelt are stepping up their cooperation: the two Siegerland companies have now exchanged their IT trainees for the third time. Michelle Ochs from SIEGENIA and Gereon Weber from HEES had the opportunity for four weeks to look outside the confines of their company and to gain valuable experiences for their future careers.
"Joint investment in high-quality vocational training is especially beneficial for companies in different sectors", reported Bernd Grams, IT training officer at SIEGENIA. "Such exchanges provide trainees with new stimuli, the acquisition of expertise and, above all, a cross-sector growth in knowledge. Most trainees find it exciting to gain an insight into an entirely new environment. We benefit from this as a company."
Michelle Ochs and Gereon Weber are enthusiastic about their experiences with the exchange. "I thought that the participation in visiting HEES's customers was particularly exciting. This was where I noticed the difference from the SIEGENIA internal IT most clearly. As a service provider you obtain a consistent insight into new companies and need extensive knowledge. Every customer has different preferences and requirements”, reported Michelle Ochs. Gereon Weber also said that he was very impressed: “I have learned a lot and found it interesting how SIEGENIA tackles specific IT tasks in comparison with HEES. The extensive insight into the IT security and the overview of potential protective measures were also exciting. The concept of the trainee exchange is a very good idea in my opinion: it enables us to collect a lot of impressions and to get to know working methods that are different to our own training organisation as early as during the training phase.“
Networking in the field of advanced training
The cooperation between SIEGENIA and HEES comprises professional advanced training and networking as well as the exchange of trainees. SIEGENIA came into contact with the vocational training centre in Arnsberg thorough the training officer at HEES, Gregor Kölsch, and has recently been offering training units on "Electricians for specified activities" in the trade. They qualify the participants in the connection, commissioning and functional testing of motorised windows, sliding systems and doors as well as ventilation units. While SIEGENIA qualifies its customers in handling electromechanical products through this cooperation, Arnsberg vocational training centre benefits from the intensified utilisation of the training organisation.
